About Sibby

Sibby Ross Thomsen founded Sibby’s Cupcakery in 2004 with the mission of providing joy and happiness to her customers and community. She began her baking career at age 4, making blueberry-peach pies with her mother in Topeka, Kansas. As an adult, she perfected her cupcake recipes on the side during a 10-year career in advertising, before she made the leap to pursue her passion for baking and decorating full-time.

Sibby is an active member of the San Francisco Bakers Dozen, a non-profit organization for Bay Area baking professionals and enthusiasts. Sibby served on the board of the organization for 13 years.

Our Story

Called “the cupcake center of the universe” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Sibby’s Cupcakery has been featured in numerous local and national publications, including San Francisco, Modern Bride, Daily Candy, and Lucky Magazine, which named it one of the best places for baked goods in Northern California. From 2015 to 2023, Sibby’s Cupcakery has been voted Best Party Food/Caterer on the Peninsula by the readers of Bay Area Parent magazine.

On February 5, 2024, Sibby's Cupcakery celebrated its 20th Birthday. We are so grateful to have been part of this amazing community for two decades, and look forward to many more.
