  • Can I order individual cupcakes?

    Sorry, we only sell specific flavors by the dozen or half-dozen. The Sibby’s Sampler is the best way to get a good variety of our flavors. We do sell jumbo cupcakes individually, with a minimum order of a half dozen regulars OR 1 dozen minis OR 3 jumbos.
  • Do you make cupcake cakes?

    We don’t frost the cupcakes to create a cupcake cake (where it looks like a cake but people can pull out cupcakes). It gets really messy.
  • Can I order a previous Flavor of the Month?

    Our Flavor of the Month changes on the first of every month and is available during that month only. Past flavors can be custom-ordered. The minimum order for custom flavors is 8 dozen mini cupcakes or 4 dozen regular-sized cupcakes. The cost for customized flavors is $36/dozen for mini cupcakes and $51/dozen for regular-sized cupcakes. Jumbos are $11/each and must accompany a minimum order of minis or regulars.
  • What is your minimum order for delivery?

    Our minimum order for delivery is 1 dozen cupcakes (any size).
  • When is the earliest I can pickup my cupcakes?

    Our earliest pickup time is 10 AM. Sometimes we can accommodate an earlier pickup so please don’t hesitate to ask.
  • Can I order a half-dozen?

    We offer regular-sized cupcakes by the half-dozen. Mini cupcakes must be ordered by the dozen but flavors can be split by the half-dozen.
  • Why do you refrigerate the cupcakes?

    All of our cupcakes are baked fresh each morning. We refrigerate them briefly to set the frosting and to aid in transporting them in the car. Once you pickup your cupcakes, you do not need to put them in the refrigerator.
  • Do the cupcakes need to be refrigerated?

    The cupcakes need to be kept at a cool room temperature but do not need refrigeration. Sibby’s cupcakes should be enjoyed at room temperature.
  • Do you do fillings? How much are filled cupcakes?

    Yes, we do filled cupcakes. Our fillings include: Chocolate, Coffee, Lemon, Raspberry, Strawberry and Vanilla Buttercream, Cinnamon and Vanilla Cream Cheese, and Dulce de Leche and Salted Caramel. Fillings are an additional $12/dozen for mini and regular-sized cupcakes, and $2 extra per jumbo.
  • What flavors are included in the Sibby’s Sampler?

    The Sibby’s Sampler varies each month. When you place an order, we’d be happy to let you know what flavors will most likely be included.
  • Can I pick specific flavors for my Sibby’s Sampler?

    We can’t guarantee specific flavors and quantities in the Sibby’s Sampler but we can certainly make a note to NOT include certain flavors. Let us know if you’re craving a specific flavor and we will do our best to include it.
  • Can I come by the bakery to see the cupcakes in person and taste one?

    Yes, please do! We typically have Sampler boxes of 1 dozen minis ($27) that are available for sale early in the morning. Later in the day, we have “extra” cupcakes that we sell individually to folks on a first come, first served basis. Regular-sized cupcakes are $3.50 each. Mini cupcakes are $2.25 each. We recommend calling in advance to confirm that we have extra cupcakes.
  • Is Sibby’s Cupcakery a Nut-Free Facility?

    Yes, Sibby’s Cupcakery is a nut-free bakery. Our cupcakes can be enjoyed by those with peanut and tree-nut allergies and can be safely brought to parties and events requiring nut-free treats.
  • Are you exclusively a Gluten-Free facility?

    Our Gluten-Free cupcakes are made with gluten-free ingredients but we are not a completely gluten-free bakery. We take great care to avoid cross-contamination but because we do use wheat flour in our bakery, we don’t recommend our cupcakes for individuals with severe wheat allergies or Celiac disease.
  • How do I request a donation?

    Sibby’s Cupcakery is committed to giving back to our Bay Area community and to those in need. Please submit a written proposal to donations@sibbyscupcakery.com and we will get back to you. We review written donation requests on the first of every month.
  • I rented cake stands. When do they need to be returned?

    Stands need to be returned on the Tuesday following the event.
  • Do I have to order cupcakes to rent your platters?

    Yes. To ensure that our customers always have first priority, we only rent our platters to those purchasing cupcakes.
  • Can I reserve a spot on your calendar before placing my order?

    Unfortunately, we can’t reserve space in our schedule until an order is placed. Customers are welcome to place an order and adjust quantities and flavors up until noon the day before delivery or pickup.
  • What should I do if my event is on a Monday when the bakery is closed?

    You can pick up your cupcakes on Sunday and they will still be fresh and delicious on Monday. For best results, store cupcakes in Tupperware or a cake stand overnight, or wrap the cupcake box in plastic wrap.
  • Do you have a retail store?

    While we don’t have space for you to dine-in,  you are always welcome to stop by during business hours to place an order, grab a cupcake or just say “hi”. We specialize in custom cupcakes that are baked to order from scratch daily. We deliver our cupcakes from San Francisco to Sunnyvale. You are also welcome to pick up cupcakes from our bakery in downtown San Mateo. For pickups, the minimum order is one dozen mini-sized cupcakes or a half-dozen regular-sized cupcakes. The Sibby’s Sampler offers an assortment of our most popular flavors.
  • What are extras?

    We are a bake-to-order bakery and request that orders be placed by 4:30 pm the day before the event at the latest. (Keep in mind we are closed on Mondays!) We bake “extras” (beyond our orders) to accommodate same-day requests and to satisfy any unpremeditated and sudden cupcake cravings! These “extra” cupcakes are sold individually on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, we are not able to put extras on hold. Let us know if you’re interested in picking up some extras and we’ll let you know when they are ready for sale.
  • When should I place my order?

    Fridays, weekends and holidays sometimes book up a week in advance, so it’s best to place your order as soon as possible. Otherwise, one or two days is typically enough notice. If we can squeeze in a last-minute order, we will, so don’t hesitate to call.
  • How long do the cupcakes keep?

    Sibby’s Cupcakes are best enjoyed within 2 days but often stay moist longer if stored in Tupperware or a cake stand at a cool room temperature.
  • Can I freeze the cupcakes?

    Yes, Sibby’s Cupcakes freeze well. Follow these instructions for best results:

    Freeze: Place cupcakes in Tupperware or wrap pink bakery box twice with plastic wrap. Be careful not to tip the box while packing. Place directly into freezer.

    Defrost: Remove box from freezer and unwrap the plastic. Let the cupcakes sit for two hours prior to the event to allow adequate time for defrosting. Enjoy!
